ISSUE 11  AUGUST 2012

Inspiration and networking of Olympic proportions

When the Hon Justine Elliot, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade officially opened the 6th national WIGB Speaker Series, she focussed on the importance of economic empowerment for Australian businesswomen through global engagement with Growth Markets - the theme of 2012. Stereotypical misperceptions about the Middle East were broken down. Australian women can perform outstandingly, as they have done in the Olympics. Exceptional case study speakers featured in each location described how they do business in the Middle East and other growth markets. They explored the benefits of exporting by spreading risk. We heard time and time again that you should choose your business partner carefully, as you would a coach, and always remain flexible. If you missed out on the Speaker Series you can view video postcards from Russia and Indonesia on YouTube. See photos from around the country here. Valuable connections deserving of gold medals have resulted from solid networking sessions.

Thank you to everyone who attended or contributed to make the 2012 WIGB Speaker Series a success
